A ten-year study conducted by the United States National Institutes of Health concluded that 88% of learning-to-read difficulties resulted from a single, underlying cognitive skill weakness.
All The Collected Data Will Determine Needs
- The individual mentee's goals and how to achieve them will be determined by the judgment of the qualified staff of V-ELMS. Assessment is a form of evaluation; it measures an individual's starting point.
- Forms of evaluation will be interviewing, counseling, reading and writing analyses. This intake process is used as a means of evaluating the abilities, aptitudes, skills and performance of an individual.
- Completion of this process affords both V-ELMS and the client a snapshot of the individual's needs and serves as the preparatory foundation.
